Chip In For The Cause!

The Siuslaw Open is a fundraising event to support Siuslaw Outreach Services. In 2022, Siuslaw Outreach Services provided support to more than 2,500 needy individuals through rent assistance, homeless prevention, and advocacy for victims, self-sufficiency education and more. The Siuslaw Open tournament is one of our major fundraising events of the year to help fund those assistance programs. Last year we raised over $15,000 to help those needy individuals and families.
Last year, Siuslaw Outreach Services assisted over 350 persons who were survivors of domestic violence, and 44 survivors of sexual assault. Another statistic which is often overlooked is that there were 94 children in the homes where this abuse occurred, and these kinds of experiences are extremely traumatizing. SOS provides advocacy, support, information, shelter, and assists with accessing legal services.
Last year SOS also assisted, nearly 3,000 low-income individuals/families experiencing a wide array of emergencies, with emergency vouchers, utility or rent payments. The agency served more than 900 homeless persons with a variety of services. In 2024, Siuslaw Outreach Services distributed over $700,000 in direct aid. All of SOS services are provided free, and with the principle of encouraging self-sufficiency. This is made possible because of supporters like you. We thank you for participating in this event and supporting those in our community who are struggling and need a little extra help.

About the Tournament

This year’s tournament is being held at beautiful Florence Golf Links (formerly Sandpines) in Florence, Oregon. Registration is limited to 25 teams. The tournament is a 4-person team, “Calloway Scoring” format.

7:30am - 8:30am: Team Check-in - Team Captain is responsible for checking their team in the day of tournament. Event staff will send captains “Day of Instructions” in advance of the tournament.

7:30am - 9:00am: Putting contest

9:10am - $5K Putt

9:30am - Shotgun Start

A chipping contest will also be held during the tournament. Hyak will be hosting a hotdog BBQ at hole 7. A delicious meal will be provided, along with snacks and beverages. Prize items available including KPs, hole-in-one, poker contest, and gift basket raffle.

Format: Scramble with Shotgun start at 9:30am. All players drive from the tee and select the best shot. All players then play the next shot from the selected position. You may place the ball within six inches of the original ball position. The same procedure is used on all shots including putts. The first ball holed is the team score for hole. Each team must use a minimum of 3 drives from each player on the team.

Callaway System of Handicapping: Under this system, a team’s handicap is determined after the completed round. It uses up to six of the team’s worst holes along with an adjustment factor to determine handicap. Teeing Ground: Men-White Tees, Ladies-Red Tees

Out of Bounds: Defined by white stakes, property fences, and public roads

Range Finders: Artificial devices used to calculate distances only are legal under Rule #14-3

Doubt as to Procedure: Complete hole with two balls Rule # 20.1c(3)

Penalty Areas: Defined by yellow stakes. Rule # 17.1d(1) and (2)

Red Penalty Areas: Defined by red stakes. Rule # 17.1d(3)

Embedded Ball: Ball Must Be Embedded in General Area. Relief is allowed under Rule 16.3b only when a player’s ball is embedded in the general area Rule # 16.3

Bunkers: Bunkers “sand traps” are not in play.
